Tropical Forest Foundation
Established with the objective of supporting the conservation of tropical forests
and wildlife—for the long-term benefit of humanity.

The Origin of Our Logo
The tapir is one of Thailand’s 15 remaining reserved wildlife species. With its unique appearance—featuring the long trunk-like nose of an elephant, rounded ears like a pig, a short tail like a bear, and hooved feet resembling a rhinoceros—the tapir’s name is derived from the Thai word ‘Sam-Sedj’, meaning ‘a mix of many parts.’
Its distinctive traits and endearing charm inspired the Foundation’s committee to adopt the tapir as the emblem of the Tropical Forest Foundation. The logo not only reflects the gentleness of wildlife but also serves as a reminder to end hunting and wildlife trade, ensuring the survival of Thailand’s precious species for generations to come.

Activities of the Foundation

Foundation Launch in 2004
The foundation was inaugurated in 2004 with the creation of a Textile Art collection featuring the Seven Great Creatures of the Western Forest: the Peacock, Tiger, Gaur, Banteng, Wild Buffalo, Tapir, and Elephant. These art pieces were auctioned to raise funds for the Forest Rangers’ Ration Fund in the Huai Kha Khaeng Wildlife Sanctuary.
Seven bidders participated in the auction — including Kasikorn Bank, Singha Beer, Red Bull, Carabao Dang, Chang Beer, and PASAYA — each bidding 200,000 Baht, resulting in a total of 1,400,000 Baht raised.
Since its launch, the foundation has consistently pursued its mission through a variety of initiatives over the past decade, such as:
